One week and counting!
The FBC-Cabot 2015 Bulgaria mission team consists of Amanda Geaney, Bonne Jensen, Lea and Dennis Hyland. Amanda is our only "first-timer" on this trip.
We have another full ten days planned beginning Monday, May 11th and returning Thursday, May 21st. With the exception of one day at the Transition and Training Center in Borovtsi serving with Paul and Judy Ridgway, we will spend all of our time in the capital city of Sofia serving alongside Scott and Sandy Chadwick at the International Baptist Church (IBC).
Last year was an amazing experience in ministry with the Chadwicks conducting Bible studies, a church-wide picnic, arts and crafts, and leading in worship. We anticipate a similar itinerary with the Chadwicks this year including renewal of friendships made with the IBC congregation comprised of as many as 12 different nationalities, some refugees from the war torn middle east.
Bonne is already in country assisting Paul and Judy Ridgway with ongoing ministries. The Mission Team's primary goal in visiting Borovtsi is to minister and encourage the Ridgways, and the young men who reside at the Training Center along with staff who have become our dear friends as well. When we return, we will be better able to report on this significant ministry where FBC has invested so much time and resources previously.
